Thursday has been my favorite day of the week for a long time. I don't have an exciting reason for this other than the anticipation of the weekend.
I have been reading tons of PF blog and think I am going to post how much money I spend a day. I think this will help me keep track of my money and keep me accountable. The more I get into the whole budgeting process the more I realize how similar it is to losing weight.
Over time if you spend more than you make you you got into debt, if you eat more than you burn you gain weight. I am still bummed about the fact that I struggle so much with both things, but at least I am taking steps to improve things. That's positive! :)
Having made the commitment to record everything I spend, I want to add some rules. These will only be expenses that aren't standard bills. Things that will not be included are are rent and regular bills.
Monday - $0
Tuesday - $4.85 - Starbucks (I am allowing myself one breakfast out per week)
- $50.00 - Guitar lesson (this is my second to last lesson, since this no longer fits in my budget)
Tuesday total = $54.85
Wednesday = $0
Thursday -$55.91 - Medical bills, $15 Prescription, $36 Took Dan to dinner, $60 gas and a carwash, $15 netflix, $49.95 New Yorker Subscription
Total for Thursday = $231.86! It really adds up fast!

I am going to try and have weeks where I don't spend any money at least Monday through Friday. One very big perk at my job is that I get lunch paid for everyday. Sometimes this will also cover dinner since I have leftovers. Also we often have pastries in the mornings, while this saves money it doesn't help with my other goal of losing weight. hehe.
As far as my stimulus check goes, I plan to save half into my fund and the other half will go towards a double credit card payment. woo hoo.
It has been less than 2 months and I have paid off almost 6%. My goal is 3% per month, so far I am on target. Awesome!
