After one month it looks at though I have paid off 5.07% of my debt. I think that is a pretty good first month. I also forgot to mention that about $8,500 of my debt is due to the fact that I put my sister's lawyer fees from her divorce on my credit card. I would do it again in a heartbeat but I can't deny that it has caused me some stress. I was already in considerable debt when I offered so it has been a bit of a burden. I know when you do this type of thing for family you can't expect to get the money back so I have just accepted it as part of my debt.
As far as saving money goes I have managed to sack away a few more dollars, getting me up to the $1400 range. The goal is to save $980 before my weekend trip in July. This is just an arbitrary goal but I figured it was good to set one.
I think getting all my finances out there, just seeing what was going on, has opened my eyes. I was living in denial not really wanting to deal with it, which is, of course the worst possible course of action, but now I feel as though I have a bit of a handle on things and will hopefully be debt free in 2.5 years. 2.5 years is when I am finished paying off my car so I figure that was a good goal for all the debt.
As far as the weight loss goes, it has been pretty stagnate. I plan to really buckle down when Dan goes to Australia in May. He will be gone for a month, so that will give me a nice head start on things. In the meantime I have been making some changes. I have taken to bringing oatmeal to work or eating high fiber cereal at home and I have done well with my rule of "no take out".
I plan to check back in around the 25th of each month.

Glad to know I'm not alone. And now you know you aren't either. :-)
